Background Information on CONSULT-MN

 

When the national Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA) ceased operation at the end of 2009, members of the Minnesota chapter regrouped to form a local organization with similar goals.

Key Facts about Consult Minnesota:

 

Purpose:

Facilitate Information Technology support to community and non-profit organizations;

Mentor its members and other interested parties on opinions, questions, issues, concerns, or other considerations that may arise in the areas of technology, business and/or personal development, and

Provide its members and other interested parties with regular opportunities to gather, dine, network, and discuss, debate, debunk, and defend approaches, processes, standards, and techniques on whatever subjects fate may cause to arise.

 

Current and planned activities:

Editing and distributing video of “Starting Out in Computer Consulting” seminar;

Providing volunteers to help at conferences and seminars.

Partnership with education futures organization in applying new technologies to educational innovations.

 

Membership: Open to all, will interest mainly technology entrepreneurs.

 

Meetings: Bimonthly, third Thursday, 5:30 p.m., Walnut Room, Axel’s Char House in the Roseville Radisson Hotel, 2540 N. Cleveland Ave.

No admission charge.
